There are a great many possible reasons why the highly regarded research specialists at Arizona’s CORE Institute sought out Mark Dekutoski, MD to work with them, and one key reason could very well be the acclaim he received for one of his research papers. The paper, which was entitled, “The AOSpine North America Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy Study: Perioperative complication rates associated with surgical treatment based on a prospective multicenterstudy of 302 patients.” That study was awarded a Best Paper Award 1st Place from the AOSPINE International’s Global Spine Congress. It was awarded that for the thoroughness of the research and and amount of information it contained.

Dr. Mark Dekutoski has a strong ability to teach the next generation of orthopedic surgeons everything they need to know and the willingness to do so. He likes to show his future colleagues the newest methods for treating patients and the best ways to move orthopedic surgery forward into the future. For example, his studies on the least invasive methods for performing spinal surgery are great for patients.
